Tetelestai, A Symphony for Wind Ensemble

Written for and dedicated to Jerry Junkin and the University of Texas Wind Ensemble. In Loving Memory of Vincent R. DiNino. The title means “it is finished” in Greek. This is thought to be the last word that Jesus spoke to the people of Jerusalem before his death. The first two movements may be programmed separately. A passing theme in the third movement stands as a small memorial to the composer’s friend Dmitry Volkov, a brilliant young cellist who died at 26 of heart failure.
